On January 10, 2022, José Urbina, a militant of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) was shot to death inside his home in Puerto Páez, Apure.
Urbina was a prominent popular communicator; director of the radio station Frontera 92.5 FM. His case shocked public opinion and today, one year later, impunity and institutional silence have prevailed.

In different media, extreme right groups have openly guided demonstrations of non-recognition of election results and attacks on democracy.
