Britain's communists strongly condemn the racist and Islamophobic attacks by far right thugs

The Communist Party of Britain (CPB) unequivocally condemns the racist and Islamophobic attacks by far right thugs on communities, immigrants and refugees across Britain over the last week.

It is clear that these actions were planned by a range of far-right figureheads, commentators and organisations, amounting to a far right offensive. 

 

Dublin: A criminal hate fest orchestrated by rightist and fascist forces — Workers Party of Ireland

Referring to the violent incidents that took place in Dublin on November 23, the website of the Workers Party of Ireland points out:

"Yesterday’s appalling events in Dublin can scarcely come as a surprise. 

People were, of course, shocked at the horrific knife attack on innocent school children and their teachers , but this was not the reason for the orgy of reactionary violence in which workers were attacked, shops looted and public services and their workers, including first responders, targeted and abused.

Cyprus: AKEL strongly condemns racist attacks against immigrants in Limassol

AKEL, the Progressive Party of Working People, strongly condemned Friday's racial violence against immigrants and refugees in Limassol, Cyprus.

On the night of Friday 1 September, far-right groups turned the city center into chaos, by smashing shops, throwing Molotov cocktail and chasing migrants. 

In a statement, AKEL called the incidents a "racist pogrom that consists a shame for the country", stressing out that the President and his government were responsible for the scale of the violence,

NCPN: On the honorary rehabilitation of Anton de Kom by the Dutch government

In a statement issued on June 23rd, the Commission of Antiracism and Antifascism of the CC of the New Communist Party of the Netherlands (NCPN) refers to the decision of the Dutch government to grant honorary rehabilitation to Surinamese resistance fighter and anti-colonialist author Anton de Kom.

South African Communist Party condemns racism and discrimination against Africans in Ukraine

In a statement, the South African Communist Party (SACP) condemns the disrespectful attitudes unleashed recently against African people by state actors and others in Ukraine. 

 

The statement also slams NATO aggressive expansion eastwards and calls all parties involved to work towards a peaceful resolution in the situation.

EU's concern for the rise of far-right extremism and racism is hypocritical, says KKE MEP

Derek Chauvin verdict is a victory for justice won by people’s struggle, says the Communist Party USA

"The Communist Party USA celebrates this verdict, a victory for justice won by people’s struggle. Much remains to be done before the racist killings of African Americans by the police ceases", reads a statement of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) concerning the conviction of police officer Derek Chauvin who murdered George Floyd on May 25, 2020.

Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty of all charges, including  second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. 

USA Protests: Joint Declaration by Communist Parties in solidarity with the people of the U.S.

After an initiative by the Communist Party of Canada (CPC), the Communist Party of Mexico (PCM) and the Communist Party, USA (CPUSA) more than 40 Communist and Workers' Parties from all over the world have signed a joint declaration in solidarity with the workers and the people of the United States, against repression, capitalism and its barbarism.

Lenin on racism in the United States

In an article written in late January-early February 1913, under the title "Russians and Negroes", Vladimir Ilyich Lenin attempts a brief comparison between the then situation of the black people in the United States and the Russian people under the tsarist regime. 

The article, signed by Lenin as "W", was written during a period of severe censorship. It was first published in 1925 in "Krasnaya Niva" magazine.

Dimitris Koutsoumbas on U.S. protests: "The myth of the American Dream is collapsing"

In an interview with CNN Greece, the General Secretary of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Dimitris Koutsoumbas commented, among other things, about the mass protests in the U.S. following the murder of George Floyd:

“The murder of African American Floyd by a white police officer was the trigger for the outburst of popular outrage that had been simmering. Alongside state violence, this outbreak is affected by other factors, such as the 100,000 deaths due to Coronavirus – with most victims belonging to the poor popular strata who had no access to health facilities – as well as the burgeoning of unemployment and poverty.

George Floyd's Murder — Capitalism means I can't breathe...

In a statement issued on Friday, the youth wing of the KKE, the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), condemns the heinous murder of 46 year-old African-American jobless man George Floyd by a white police officer in Minneapolis, USA. 

More specifically, the statement of the Press Bureau of the Central Council of KNE points out:

"Never look again with contempt at people who are fleeing war and famine"

The message below was written by a 20-year old boy on his profile. His name is Dejan Kulusevski and he is a proffesional football player, currently playing for Italian Serie A club Parma on a loan from Juventus FC. 

"To those who now have twenty-eight packets of pasta. To those who are looking for hand sanitizer in the black market. To those who walk on the street with a mask. And to those who are planning to flee with their children to areas not infected with Coronavirus: Never look again with contempt at people who are fleeing war and famine."

Greek workers' movement stands in solidarity with refugees — Statement by PAME

In face of the latest developments with the refugee situation in the Greek-Turkish borders and the Aegean islands, the vanguard of Greece's class-oriented labour movement, the All-Workers Militant Front (PAME), issued the following statement:

The trapping of thousands of refugees and immigrants in the Aegean islands and the Greek-Turkish border in Evros, in the most dramatic way, highlights the barbarism of imperialist organizations, the EU and NATO and the active involvement of all Greek governments in these organizations.

Racist crime in Germany: Turkish communists blast bourgeois hypocrisy towards fascism

Some 10,000 people marched in the town of Hanau, Germany, on Sunday as a show of support for the nine victims of a fascist terror attack. The mourners came together to demonstrate solidarity after a man shot nine people dead in the town on Wednesday before apparently killing his mother and himself. 

The 43-year-old assailant, named Tobias R., left rambling texts and videos in which he advocated racist views, called for genocide and claimed to have been under surveillance since birth. 

KKE slams Mitsotakis government's measures for the refugee-migration issue

In a statement published on 902 portal, the Press Bureau of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) comments on the recent measures announced by the right-wing government of New Democracy (ND) regarding the refugee-migration issue. 

"The measures announced by the ND government for the refugee issue strengthen even further the entrapment and repression to asylum seekers, as well as the suffering of the local Greek population. They cultivate and fuel racism and xenophobic reactions. They are dangerous measures for both the refugees and the Greek people" points out the statement. 

Turkish communists on New Zealand massacre: "Racism and capitalism will be defeated"

Regarding the massacre in Christchurch, New Zealand, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) issued, on March 16th, the following statement:

Yesterday there had been a brutal massacre killing 49 people in New Zealand.  It became clear by his messages that, the assailant had been in a sick hatred and he been preparing for the attack beforehand.

This increasing racism, anti-immigrant hatred and as witnessed in the last incident, a fascist delusion all around the world, is the reflection of capitalism's deadlock.

In a statement regarding the heinous crime in the city of Christchurch, in New Zealand, where at least 49 people were murdered and 48 more injured, the Press Bureau of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) points out:

"We express our deep solidarity to the people of New Zealand for the heinous crime at the muslim mosques in the country. Such crimes show how far the racist-fascist ideology and hate can go. The people must fight against them at their roots, in order to prevent any repeat of such tragedies". (902 portal)

KKE: Tsipras "whitewashes" the EU for the people's suffering and rise of fascism

Regarding the speech of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras at the Peace Forum in Paris, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) issued a statement: 

"Once again, Mr Tsipras tries to to "whitewash" the EU and its supposedly "moral" values, both for the suffering of the people as well as for the rise of nationalism and fascism.

After the first round's results in the presidential elections that took place last Sunday in Brazil, the political parties are already preparing the alliances for the second round which is going to be held on October 28th. 

The major contestants are the far-right candidate of the Social Liberal Party under the slogan "Brazil above everything, God above everyone" and, on the other hand, of the candidate of the social democratic Workers' Party (PT) Fernando Haddad.
