In a statement, the World Peace Council (WPC) reads:
The World Peace Council received with deep sadness the information about the demise of our beloved comrade Alfred Marder, veteran leader of the U.S. Peace Council and President of Honor, who passed away in the age of 102 years in his hometown, New Haven, Connecticut.
The WPC expresses its strong condemnation to the recent statement of US President Biden in which he openly threatens the DPR of Korea to end its existence. The escalation of threats and sanctions comes along with military drills of the USA with its allies from the region around the Korean Peninsula, with sanctions and coercive, unilateral illegal actions against the sovereignty of the DPRK and its people.

The Assembly took place in an iconic country whose people fought and defeated like only few other peoples, all-powerful adversaries such as the Japanese empire as an invader, the French colonialists who occupied Indochina and the American imperialists who slaughtered the country with over 3 million victims and with consequences to this day .
The new executive committee of 40 members elected Pallab Sengupta, General
Secretary of the All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation, as
President of the WPC with absolute consensus.
Thanasis Pafilis was re-elected General Secretary of the Council, and Iraklis Tsavdaridis was elected Executive Secretary.
More specifically, the WPC stresses out:
The biggest war machine in history, the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) is having its Summit on 29-30 June in Madrid, Spain. One more summit where the war hawks of 30 countries and their governments will ratify and develop their imperialist plans as a ’’world sheriff’’.
The World Peace Council (WPC) expresses its deep concern about the recent escalation of the tensions between Azerbaijan and Armenia over border disputes in the region of Nagorno-Karabakh, which have resulted in casualties on both sides, including civilians.
This conflict, which has its origin more than thirty (30) years back, is a complicated matter in which various regional and global powers are indirectly involved.
