The 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution was honored in Greece

In an event organized by the Hellenic-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity in Thessaloniki, Greece's second largest city, hundreds of people paid tribute to the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution. The event was attended by the Ambassador of Cuba in Greece Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina who delivered a greeting speech. 

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) was represented by Theano Kapeti, member of the Central Committee and Secretary of the Party Organisation of Central Macedonia of the KKE. Apart from the Cuban Ambassador, speeches were delivered by Nikos Mottas, General Secretary of the Hellenic-Cuban Association of Thessaloniki and Nikos Zokas, Vice President of the Greek Committee for International Detente and Peace (EEDYE). 

The 50th anniversary of Che Guevara's assassination to be commemorated in Greece

With political and cultural events the friends of Cuba in Greece will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Ernesto Che Guevara's assasination. 

In Athens:

On Monday 9 October, "Alkyonis" cinema will host an event in honor of Che. The major speaker will be the Ambassador of Cuba in Greece Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina, while the president of the Hellenic-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity Nikos Karandreas will deliver a greeting message. The event will also include the projection of the film "Donde nunca jamas se lo imaginan" by Manuel Perez. 

Event in honor of Fidel Castro held in Greece

THESSALONIKI- A political event in honor of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz was held on Friday in Greece's second largest city, Thessaloniki. The event, which was co-organised by the local Greek-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity and the Greek Committee for International Détente and Peace, was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Greece Ms. Zelmys María Domínguez Cortina and the Embassy's councellor Mr. Jose Oriol Marrero Martinez. 

Major speakers at the event were the Professor of Contemporary History at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Giorgos Margaritis, the Secretary General of the Greek-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity Nikos Mottas and the Secretary General of the Greek Commitee for International Detente and Peace Nikos Zokas.
