32 years since the dissolution of the Soviet Union: The Red Flag will rise again

It was thirty-two years ago, on December 26, 1991, when the red flag with the sickle and hammer was lowered from the Kremlin.

It was then, during the cold days of December, when the first socialist state of the world, the homeland of the world's proletariat, bent under the weight of the counterrevolution. Four days before, on December 22nd, the leaderships of three of the largest Soviet republics had decided the dissolution of the USSR, while the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) had been outlawed on summer of the same year.

Gorbachev ignored data about U.S agents in the Soviet leadership, ex-spy says

Mikhail Gorbachev, the Soviet Union's last President who led the last phase of the counterrevolution, ignored disturbing intelligence reports about the activity of U.S agents in the leadership of the USSR in the late 1980s. Such an accusation was made by former illegal KGB officer, retired Colonel of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Andrei Bezrukov.

According to RIA Novosti, Bezrukov, who is currently a Professor at the prestigious Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), made this revelation during a speech at the “Digital History” science festival. 

Ukraine's decommunization and the rise of fascism

The process of the so-called “decommunization” in Ukraine was introduced during the first years of the restoration of capitalism in the USSR and included the slandering and erasing of anything related to the Soviet period and the construction of socialism.

This term was also used by the President of today's capitalist Russia, Vladimir Putin, in his anti-communist statement prior to the invasion, saying characteristically that “we are ready to show you what genuine decommunization means for Ukraine”. It is not a coincidence that anti-communism is a common feature of both the neo-Nazi regime in Kiev as well as the leadership of capitalist Russia, at a time when the two sides are waging a bloody war against the people on behalf of their bourgeois classes.

30 years later, 63% of Russians regret the dissolution of the Soviet Union

Thirty years since the victory of the counterrevolution and the overthrow of socialism in the Soviet Union, the supposed "heaven" that capitalism would bring in Russia has been proved nothing more than a deception.

The deeply anti-worker policies of the bourgeois governments, from Boris Yeltsin to the current administration of Vladimir Putin, leads more and more Russians to consider what they lost after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Huge social achievements were abolished, the rich became richer and the poor became poorer, while the income for the working class families shrinks year by year. Capitalism has shown its real, repulsive, barbaric face to the working people of Russia.

KKE: Solidarity with Cuba! Imperialist plans shall not pass!

In a statement about the recent imperialist counterrevolutionary provocation against Cuba, the Press Bureau of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) points out:

"Another imperialist plan against Cuba and its people is ongoing during the past hours. The USA, in cooperation with anti-Cuban mafia operating on its territory as well as forces within Cuba openly supporting their plans, are orchestrating protests in Cuba with anti-communist and anti-revolutionary slogans calling for the overthrow of the government. They also magnify and surround these actions with media hype through their enormous propaganda apparatus. They even call for an imperialist “humanitarian intervention” in Cuba, under the pretext of addressing the difficulties caused by the imperialist US blockade itself!

“Since the time of Perestroika we have been freezing": 85-year-old Russian woman lived without heating for 30 years

Her name is Vera Pavlova and she is 85 years old. She survived the Siege of Leningrad in 1942, overpassing the difficulties of the Second World War, but the restoration of capitalism in the Soviet Union reserved a devastating surprise for her: She lived without heating for 30 years!

Pavlova's apartment is on a five-story building which stands on the shore of the bay next to a Soviet shipyard in Feodosia, Crimea. After the victory of the counterrevolution in the beginning of 1990s, the plant and the boiler house that provided heating to the workers' houses, was closed. 

Germany's Die Linke party adopts anti-Cuban resolution

A recent decision of the German Die Linke party confirms what is already known: the role of social democracy as a timeless instrument of imperialism and an enemy of the working people. At its last meeting, the Party's executive committee decided to adopt a hostile position towards Cuba by declaring its support for the counter-revolutionary group known as “San Isidro Movement”.

According to Neues Deutschland newspaper, Die Linke - a leading member of the Party of the European Left - adopted with a majority of 90% a resolution about the “democratization of Cuban society”, with which it expresses solidarity with the so-called “dissidents”. Under the pretext of “human rights”, Die Linke's social democrats advocate in favor of the US-backed counter-revolutionary efforts in Cuba.

Recently, a small group of U.S-backed mercenaries in Havana, Cuba, tried to stage a despicable anti-Cuban show seeking to destabilize the country. This group of 14 people became the center of a new counter-revolutionary, sponsored and supported by the U.S. government, farce in San Isidro neighborhood in Old Havana.

Dmitry Yazov, last Soviet Marshal who opposed the USSR dissolution, died at 95

Dmitry Yazov, the last appointed Marshal of the Soviet Union, died on Tuesday in Moscow after a long illness. He was 95 years old.

His career extends from the Siege of Leningrad to the formation of the State Committee on the State of Emergency (SCSE, GKChP) which tried to prevent the domination of the counterrevolutionary forces in 1991.

Born in 1924 in the Omsk oblast, Yazov enlisted in the Red Army in 1941 at age 17. During World War II he would be honored for his service on the Volkhov and Leningrad fronts, thus laying the groundwork for his ascension through the ranks of the Soviet military. He participated in the battles of the Siege of Leningrad, in the offensive operations of Soviet troops in the Baltic states, in the blockade of the Courland Pocket. 

KKE MEP slams EU and US support on Cuban counterrevolutionary José Daniel Ferrer

As 902 portal reported, during an intervention in the Plenary of the European Parliament in Strasburg, the MEP of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos denounced the hypocritical stance of the E.U and the U.S. regarding the human rights situation in Cuba. 

More specifically, during the discussion titled "Cuba, the case of  José Daniel Ferrer", the KKE MEP pointed out the following:

“Comrades, hold the flag high! Hope lies in the people's struggle!”

During these cold days of the Russian winter, the first socialist state in the world - the fatherland of every working man and woman- was bending under the weight of the counterrevolution. The imperialists and their allies- opportunists, social democrats, euro-communists, etc- were talking about the ultimate end of Socialism, the "end of history", the "defeat of marxism" and the triumph of the capitalist system. 

The 1968 Prague Spring: Counterrevolution as the “Trojan horse” of Imperialism

It was August 1968- 50 years ago- in the capital of the Socialist Republic of Czechoslovakia, Prague, where the internationalist solidarity of the Warsaw Pact countries were crushing one of the most significant counterrevolutionary efforts of the Cold War era. The events in Prague consist a milestone in the struggle of the socialist world against imperialism. At the same time, the then events continue serving as a source of anticommunist propaganda by various bourgeois and opportunist forces.

For many decades, the bourgeois historiography- supported by opportunists and counterrevolutionaries (trotskyites, eurocommunists, social democrats, etc.) refers to the “soviet tanks” which, as they argue, “drowned Prague in blood” thus ending prematurely the effort for a “socialism with a human face”.

One gusano less: CIA-trained terrorist Luis Posada Carriles dies at 91

The most infamous terrorist in the Western Hemisphere, Luis Posada Carriles, died on May 23 in Miami, without paying his debts to justice or reparations to a single one of his victims.

The United States protected Posada Carriles until his final days, training him to plant bombs and carry out terrorist attacks against hundreds of Cubans.

According to a press statement by his lawyer, Posada Carriles died on the morning of May 23, at his Miramar home in South Florida. Although the cause of his death is still unknown, he was reported to be suffering from throat cancer.

“Achievements and successes of the working class in socialism”, presented by the KKE in Athens

Τhe work “Achievements and successes of the working class in socialism”, published by “Synchroni Epochi”, was presented by the KKE's Central Committee, on July 12^th in Egaleo, Athens.

“Our future isn't capitalism. It is the new world, socialism”! This slogan was shouted by hundreds of members and friends of the KKE and KNE at “Alexis Minotis” municipal theatre of Egaleo, where the publication was presented. Working people from various sectors, who live the intensive capitalist exploitation, listened with interest the significant information that the new publication contains and which proves the superiority of the socialist system. The publication- a result of a collective effort by the Central Committee's department for Labor and Trade Union work- consists part of the KKE's greater multiform activity for the 100^th anniversary of the October Socialist Revolution .
