Swaziland's Mswati regime targets Communist Party leader

In a statement issued today, the Communist Party of Swaziland points out:

In a bid to deepen its rule and, in this year’s context, take forward its undemocratic elections, the Mswati autocracy has resuscitated old traffic charges against the Deputy General Secretary of the Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS), Comrade Mxolisi Ngcamphalala. The regime has summoned him to appear in court today for those charges.  

Communist Party of Swaziland's 5th National Congress to be held on April 6-9

The 5th National Congress of the Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) is due to be held between 6-9 April 2023 in Mpumalanga region, South Africa.  

The Communist Party of Swaziland, a vivid Marxist-Leninist party in the African continent, was founded in 2011 and consisted a historic move in the struggle of the people of Eswatini (Swaziland) against the authoritarian regime of King Mswati II and the exploitative capitalist system. 

Police shoot and kidnap Communist Party of Swaziland member Mvuselelo Mkhabela

On February 28th, Mswati's police shot Communist Party of Swaziland member Mvuselelo Mkhabela at close range as the regime's police invaded communities to enforce the unpopular sham election processes. 

The armed police contingent from Hlathikhulu police station was part of the deployment of the regime to enforce its unpopular rule to the people when they shot at him at around 1:00PM (CAT). 

Comrade Mvuselelo was badly shot at and dragged to the police van helplessly. He has been identified at Hlathikhulu Government Hospital. The police dumped him in the hospital and informed the hospital staff that they will come check him at night. 

KKE in EU Parliament: "Solidarity with the people and the Communist Party of Swaziland"

On Wednesday 15 February, the plenary of EU Parliament in Strasbourg organized a discussion concerning "the situation of human rights defenders in Eswatini" (Swaziland). 

 

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) intervened in the debate expressing its solidarity with the people and the Communist Party of Swaziland who fight against the authoritarian regime of King Mswati II. 

More specifically, KKE MEP Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos pointed out in his speech:

Swaziland: Mswati and his murderous regime are becoming increasingly isolated

In line with the Communist Party of Swaziland’s call for the boycott of Mswati’s umhlanga ritual, young girls in Swaziland have overwhelmingly rejected the annual exploitative ritual. 

Escorted buses and lorries, dispatched by Mswati all over Swaziland to fetch young girls, returned empty from pick-up points. This is a victory for all Swazis. Mswati and his murderous regime are becoming increasingly isolated. 

This overwhelming boycott is yet another act which proves beyond any doubt that Swazis are fed up with Mswati and his autocratic tinkhundla system as well its backward practices. 

Swaziland: Mswati's security forces opened fire against Communist Party activists

The police in Swaziland shot live bullets at activists of the Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) who were protesting during a Sunset Rally held on Saturday night, 25 June 2022.

The rally was held at Mahwalala community, about 4 kilometres outside the capital city, Mbabane. It was the second rally of the weekend, following another one held on Friday night in Msunduza township, Mbabane.

Swaziland police kidnap Communist Party member

In a statement issued on Wednesday 23 March, the Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) denounces the kidnapping of its member, Bongi Nkambule, by police forces.  This incident is added to the kidnapping of children by Swaziland's security forces a few days ago in Lubuluni community.  

 

The Communist Party of Swaziland's statement reads:

"Wednesday 23 March 2022:- Today, around 13:00, Mswati's police kidnapped Communist Party member, Bongi Nkambule - fondly known among his comrades as "Comrade Bongo".

Swaziland's communists debunk misleading reports by the "Times of Swaziland"

The Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) takes this opportunity to condemn the Times of Swaziland newspaper for publishing misleading information about the CPS Summer School held 17-27 December 2021.

About two weeks ago on its Sunday edition, the Times deliberately misled its readers that it had obtained a ‘leaked’ CPS document purporting that the CPS School was attended by first year William Pitcher College students. The Times claimed that the students were trained to sabotage the state by attacking and disarming the police, cutting electricity poles, cutting water pipes, conducting money heists, among other acts.

Swaziland: Solidarity with the students — Down with Mswati

"The military and police in Swaziland (Eswatini) have been deployed all over the country as students’ protests continued on Tuesday. During the Monday protests, the security forces shot, arrested and tortured students who defended their right to education", reads a statement by the Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS). 

Over 80 schools across Swaziland have been indefinitely shut down since the protests intensified in the last three weeks.

Swaziland's King Mswati III regime intensifies oppression — Communist Party statement

In a statement addressed to all communist and workers' parties, the Communist Party of Swaziland refers to the current socio-political situation in the country. The statement reads:

"The Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) calls on all communist and workers’ parties to be alert to and to express solidarity concerning the new situation in our country, as pro-democracy protests are now gathering pace, and as the autocratic regime of Mswati III is clamping down fiercely and bloodily on its opponents.

South African trade union leader Khaya Xaba dies

The national spokesperson for the National Education, Health and Allied Workers' Union (NEHAWU), Khaya Xaba, has died. The union said he had died in the early hours of Sunday morning due to "illness complications".

In a statement, the South African Communist Party (SACP) points out:

"The South African Communist Party (SACP) expresses its message of heartfelt condolences to the family of Comrade Khaya Xaba, the National Education, Health and Allied Workers Union (Nehawu), the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu), and the Young Communist League of South Africa (YCLSA). The National Spokesperson of Nehawu passed away in the early hours of Sunday, 13 June 2021 after experiencing complications from an illness. It was with great sadness that we learnt of Comrade Khaya’s untimely death.

Africa Day: Statement by the Communist Party of Swaziland

The Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) in celebration of Africa Day 2021 salutes all our African liberation stalwarts for the gallant contributions they made in the anti-colonial struggles over the years. 

 

The CPS also salutes all the revolutionaries daily engaged in taking the African liberation struggle forward, particularly struggles against the subjugation of the African continent to imperialist forces. 

Swaziland's Communist Party (CPS) to hold its 4th National Congress on 2-4 April

The Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) will hold its 4^th National Congress from Friday 2 April to Sunday 4 April 2021 under the theme Decisive mobilisation for Democracy Now. The CPS will greatly appreciate messages from the International Communist and Workers’ Parties to the CPS 4^th National Congress.

The CPS Congress will review the work of the Party since the previous Congress, analyse the current situation in Swaziland, engage in thorough analysis of the Party’s progress thus far as well as the condition of the oppressed people and revolutionary forces in the fight against the tinkhundla system and imperialism. The Party will also elect its national leadership.

Swaziland communists struggle for women's rights, denounce Mswati regime autocracy

In the tiny landlocked south African country of Swaziland (also known as Eswatini), the local Communist Party is fighting for democracy, workers rights and women's emancipation against the autocratic monarchical regime of Mswati III. 

In a statement published on December 1st, the Communist Party of Swaziland refers to the deepening crisis in the country, the treatment of women as objects of sexual exploitation and Mswati’s insatiable thirst for splendour. 

Solidarity with the detained cadres of the Communist Party of Swaziland!

In a statement the Communist Party of Swaziland has denounced the arrest of two Party cadres, Mcolisi Ngcamphalala and Njabulo Dlamini, by the local authorities. The full statement is the following:

Today – 11 January 2019 – at around 10h45 the royal Swaziland police arrested two leaders of the Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS), claiming that they were jaywalking. The leaders are Deputy Chairperson Comrade Mcolisi Ngcamphalala and International Organiser Comrade Njabulo Dlamini. They were arrested in Manzini on their way to attend a teachers’ meeting in their capacity as leaders in one of the branches of their union, the Swaziland National Association of Teachers.

Swaziland: The Communist Party blasts Mswati dictatorship for workers' suicides

In a statement issued on August 8th, the Communist Party of Swaziland slams the dictatorship regime of King Mswati III for the continuous suicides of workers in the country:

The toiling masses of Swaziland are not surprised by the suicide of a young teacher on 5 August 2018 after the Swaziland government failed to pay him for three months. Yet again, Mswati has blood on his hands.
