Elon Musk and the Dictatorship of the Capital

 By Nikos Mottas

“Fascism can be combated as capitalism alone, as the nakedest, most shameless, most oppressive, and most treacherous form of capitalism. Those who are against Fascism without being against capitalism, who lament over the barbarism that comes out of barbarism, are like people who wish to eat their veal without slaughtering the calf. They are willing to eat the calf, but they dislike the sight of blood”

From Hitler to Trump, two art pieces say the truth about capitalists and the state

Here are two editorial art pieces about capitalists and the state. John Heartfield put together a montage in 1932 dramatizing that big capitalists like Fritz Thyssen, owner of United Steelworks, financed the Nazi party. Heartfield was a prolific artist, a lifelong communist, and an early member of the German Communist Party.

Ann Telnaes drew the other cartoon a week ago. Five media billionaires (Post owner Jeff Bezos, Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg, Los Angeles Times owner Patrick Soon-Shiong, artificial intelligence wheeler-dealer Sam Altman, and the Disney Corporation) offer bags of money to Donald Trump. Telnaes had been a Post editorial-page cartoonist since 2008, but when her editor refused to publish this cartoon, she resigned.

Jihadism, capitalism and neo-Ottomanism

Interview of Kemal Okuyan, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Turkey-TKP given to journalist Marinella Correggia and published on Italian News Portal Il Manifesto with the title of "Jihadism, capitalism and neo-Ottomanism: There is nothing good for the Syrian people" on January 3:

– About this sudden change in Syria. Turkish Foreign Minister, said he had convinced Russia and Iran in Doha not to intervene on the side of the Syrian government, otherwise it would have been a bloodbath. It means that militarily the Russian and Iranian forces would have to face huge weaponry and mercenaries supplied by forces outside the country. Which ones?

Communist Party of Turkey: Capitalist greed and the Neo-Ottomanist politics are a security threat for Turkey

TKP: HERE IS OUR CONCEPT OF SECURITY

We are working class patriots. We stand for justice, equality and overall goodness within and outside our country's borders.

It is widely known that wealth, all natural resources and power are usurped by a minority. Incentives, monetary policies, public expenditures, and tax regulations all serve the interests of this minority. The cabinet and all the institutions of the government implement policies to promote the interests of this minority.

The Bankruptcy of the International Left?

By Alhelí González Cáceres

The only ones who cannot see this betrayal are those who do not want to see it, those for whom it is not convenient to see it. We must look things in the face, call them by name and tell the workers the truth.

-V.I. Lenin, 1915

History is not a simple succession of events, it does not unfold in a linear way, sometimes not even in a spiral.

Multipolarity and BRICS, once more...

By Greg Godels

The debates over “multipolarity” and the significance of an allegedly multipolar BRICS grouping continue. Arch-capitalists Donald Trump and Elon Musk openly threaten workers who go on strike

Two of the world's most prominent capitalists, former U.S President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, can't hide their deep enmity against the working class. On the contrary, they express it publicly and even share a laugh about it. Shamelessly and Cynically.

Here is an excerpt of their discussion during Trump's interview to X (Twitter) on Monday:

“I look at what you do, you walk in and you just say, ‘You want to quit?’ They go on strike – I won’t mention the name of the company – but they go on strike, and you say, ‘That’s okay, you’re all gone. You’re all gone. Every one of you is gone,” Trump said. Musk could be heard laughing and replying “yeah”.

The Five Biggest Anti-Communist Lies

By Nikos Mottas

History, they say, is written by the victors, even the temporary ones. The dominance of counter-revolution and the overthrow of socialism in the Soviet Union and the Eastern European countries in the early 1990s was the trigger for the escalation of anti-communism at all levels.

Through bourgeois historiography and the mainstream media, a series of fallacious theories have been developed, aimed at slandering the 20th century socialism and demonizing Marxist-Leninist ideology.

Speaking at the Communist Party (CPB) political committee on Tuesday evening (April 9), Georgina Andrews, condemned the silence surrounding the problems of Britain's youth.

'As young people increasingly fall into poverty, billions of pounds are spent on war and the preparations for war', the Young Communist League general secretary pointed out.

Would Putin endorse a Pinochet-like dictatorship in Russia?

Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has been re-elected for a fifth term with a  record 87% of the vote thus reaffirming his indisputable dominance in the country's political arena.

The Russian elections took place in the midst of the imperialist war in Ukraine and while the government has silenced any political power that opposes the “Special Military Operation”. Therefore, there couldn't be any presidential candidate who would express a different view concerning the strategic choices of Putin's government. The President's “opponents”, including Nikolai Kharitonov of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), were all lined up behind the Kremlin's strategy.

By Charles Andrews*

Late in January Sinohydro Corp and China Railway Group Limited re-negotiated their plunder of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). They hold 68% of Sicomines, a joint copper and cobalt mining venture with a local corporation. The two Chinese corporations will pay a pitiful royalty of 1.2% on gross sales.

The Chinese firms also pledged to invest $7 billion in infrastructure in the Congo during the life of the agreement. However, in the previous contract they had agreed to put in $3 billion but actually invested only $822 million.

Communist Youth of Denmark: Socialist or Capitalist? The political character of contemporary China

Socialist or Capitalist? Is China an imperialist state? A comprehensive article by the Communist Youth of Denmark (DKU), adopted by its Third General Assembly, on the political character of contemporary China:

The question of whether or not modern China is a socialist country, is one of the most polarizing issues among self-proclaimed Marxist-Leninists today. DKU's position on this question defines our position on a wide range of theoretical, political, philosophical and economic issues that we have to deal with in our daily activities. Therefore, we must give a clear answer to our view on the political character of China.

Margaret Thatcher: Symbol of Capitalist Barbarism

By Nikos Mottas.

The 8th of April marked the 10th death anniversary of the so-called “Iron Lady”, Margaret Thatcher. Following the announcement of her death, on 8 April 2013, spontaneous celebrations erupted in numerous working class neighborhoods throughout Britain

The fact  that thousands of Britons, old and young, welcomed happily the news of the Iron Lady's death wasn't a coincidence: Throughout her political career Baroness Thatcher made everything in order to establish herself as a fierce enemy of the working class.

Material Forces that Turn Socialism into Capitalism

Nikita Khrushchev and Deng Xiaoping.
By Charles Andrews.

The Soviet Union and China proved that people can build socialism. They also showed that apparently firm socialist countries can fall to capitalism – from within and from the top of the communist party.

Should we give up on socialism, or shall we solve a problem: how do we keep on the communist road to a society of no rich and no poor, securing common prosperity for everyone, and with full development of our humanity in work?

Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking on Capitalism

Albert Einstein (1879-1955) and Stephen Hawking (1942-2018), two of the most extraordinary scientists of the 20th century, two geniuses of theoretical physics who have defined our understanding of the universe, had shared their thoughts on the exploitative system capitalism.

Einstein did it in 1949 through an extensive article in defense of socialism in "Monthly Review and Hawking in 2015 answering a question about artificial intelligence:

KKE: The storming of Brazil's Congress by far-right groups shows the deep decay of capitalist societies

In a statement concerning the storming of government buildings by followers of Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil's capital, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) points out (here in Greek):

“The methodical invasion of government buildings by far-right supporters of former Brazilian President Bolsonaro and their calls for a coup are directed against the interests of the Brazilian people who are solely responsible for determining the social and political developments in their country.

100th anniversary of the founding of the Soviet Union: Socialism proved its superiority over capitalism

By Nikos Mottas.

December 30th marked the 100th anniversary since the founding of the world's first workers' state, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

The creation of the USSR was the practical result of the 1917 Great October Socialist Revolution, the single most important event in modern history that became the first conscious step for the transition from capitalism to socialism and the abolition of the exploitation of man by man.
