No vote for the parties of capital!

On 23 February, the Bundestag will be elected in Germany. Once again, the bourgeois media are talking about a ‘fateful election’. It is said to be about nothing less than saving ‘democracy’. The spectre of a strong AfD is being used to blackmail us into voting for the other parties of the capitalist system as a supposedly lesser evil.

Once again, the February elections are being presented as the ‘most important’ ones—a narrative designed to obscure the lack of real choice for the working class. Recently, Alice Weidel, the frontwoman of Germany’s far-right AfD party, was interviewed by tycoon and Trump supporter Elon Musk. In their much-publicized virtual conversation, Weidel blurted out that Hitler was a “communist” and a “socialist” in order to show the distance that supposedly separates her from Nazism, since Hitler was “not a conservative” or “a libertarian” and that her party and she are “exactly the opposite”.

Racist crime in Germany: Turkish communists blast bourgeois hypocrisy towards fascism

Some 10,000 people marched in the town of Hanau, Germany, on Sunday as a show of support for the nine victims of a fascist terror attack. The mourners came together to demonstrate solidarity after a man shot nine people dead in the town on Wednesday before apparently killing his mother and himself. 

The 43-year-old assailant, named Tobias R., left rambling texts and videos in which he advocated racist views, called for genocide and claimed to have been under surveillance since birth.
