KKE: Mitsotakis' government and the parties which welcomed Assad's fall bear responsibility for a Turkish-Syrian maritime deal

Commenting of the possibility of a maritime demarcation agreement between Turkey and the new Syrian government, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) highlights the responsibility the Greek government and the social democratic opposition parties which welcomed the fall of the Assad administration.

More specifically, the statement (here in Greek) reads:

"The signing of a Turkish-Syrian maritime agreement, which has already been announced, as a continuation of the unacceptable Turkish-Libyan one, will not only bear the signature of the jihadist government and the Turkish side that supported it, but it will essentially also have the "signature" of the ND government and the other parties, SYRIZA and PASOK, which welcomed the intervention in Syria and the overthrow of Assad.

This is another proof that the role of NATO standard-bearer, which the ND government consistently serves with the consent of the other bourgeois parties, not only does not serve but is directed against the sovereign rights of Greece and Cyprus, but also against the peoples of the region."
