Ahoo Daryaei and the hijab of capitalism

It isn't the first time that there have been righteous protests against the obscurantist treatment of women by the regime in Iran. However, the rush of the “West” to make the young woman who was protesting the “strict Islamic dress code” at her university go viral in global broadcast, is everything but innocent. The video that captured her protest was promoted with a lighting speed to millions of social media accounts, through official and unofficial “west” governments and embassies, NGOs, “rights' supporters”, etc.

While the war in the Middle East escalates and the threats against Iran by Israel and its Euro-Atlantic allies don't remain solely in words, the “defense of human rights” is once again turned into a propaganda tool by the US and NATO against its competitors. Such incidents have also been used in the past as an alibi for open interventions or the instigation of “color revolutions”, based on the people's existing dissatisfaction for the anti-popular policy and oppression.

Their hypocrisy for women's rights in Iran (and beyond) is exposed by their acceptance and tolerance towards the obscurantism of their other traditional allies in the region, such as Saudi Arabia. The same happens with the Taliban in Afghanistan: Having created and armed them against the people and socialist powers, they eventually used them as a scarecrow for imperialist intervention. As for “human rights” in the “West”, it nothing but a joke. Under the... hijab of capitalism lies the most brutal oppression, exploitation and inequality.
