KKE's Secretary Koutsoumbas: Mitsotakis must answer regarding Greece's involvement in Ukraine and Middle East wars

The General Secretary of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Dimitris Koutsoumbas on Friday criticized the government's stance toward the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East and called for the immediate briefing of the political parties and parliament.

"In the context of US and NATO's dangerous plans, the New Democracy government is involving Greece without any limits or barriers in the two conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, increasing the danger for the Greek people," he said.

"Yesterday, the premier signed an agreement with [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelenskiy for cooperation in 'matters of security', while at the same time a shipment of ammunition for the murderous state of Israel was planned from the port of Piraeus, which was prevented by the dock workers. This was preceded by the revelation of Greece's participation with F-16 Viper aircraft in a NATO exercise with a scenario of supporting nuclear operations," he added.

Concluding Koutsoumbas said that the government and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis should immediately brief the political parties and the Hellenic Parliament, and give specific answers to the justified questions arising from the Ukrainian presidency announcement:

— What military supplies has Greece sent and what more does it plan to send to Ukraine?
— Which Ukrainians does it train, where and how?
— Which are the additional funds that will be used for the training of the Ukrainians on F-16s
— What agreements exist for the participation of business groups in the reconstruction "loot"
— What other agreement has the Greek government signed with the "reactionary Zelenskiy regime".
