The International Relations Section of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) sends message of solidarity to Cuba on the occasion of the problems caused by the imperialist blockade and the effects of Hurricane Oscar. The statement (here in Greek) reads:
“The KKE expresses its solidarity with the people of Cuba, the government and the Communist Party of Cuba, in their efforts to deal with the problems in the country's electricity supply system, as well as the effects of the simultaneous passing of Hurricane Oscar in the eastern provinces of Cuba.

The problems of Cuba's electricity system are caused due to the long-standing imperialist blockade by the US and its allies that prevents it from obtaining the necessary materials to renew and repair the damage, as well as from obtaining the necessary fuel for the production of electricity.
The KKE particularly expresses its solidarity with the people of the eastern provinces of Cuba who are being tested by Hurricane Oscar which has caused loss of life, flooding and destruction of infrastructure and homes. We express our deepest condolences to those who lost their loved ones and wish for a speedy restoration of the damages.
The KKE stands by the side of Cuba and its people and participates in the struggle to lift all measures of the barbaric imperialist blockade and to remove Cuba from the list of "state sponsors of terrorism".
