"On July 10, departments affiliated with the so-called “Self-Administration” in northeast Syria arrested Comrade Abdul Rahman Khalil, the nominated member of the Political Bureau of the Syrian Communist Party and a member of the People’s Assembly (Parliament), due to his participation in the electoral campaign for the People’s Assembly (Parliament). Comrade Abdul Rahman refused to sign a pledge not to participate in this campaign in exchange for his release.
We condemn this unjust and abusive act by circles affiliated with the American colonialists towards a citizen exercising his constitutional rights.
We demand his immediate release.
We salute comrade Abdul Rahman Khalil for his firm stance.
Glory to the patriots who challenge the aggression of the colonizer and the oppressive actions of its agents!

الحريّـة للرفيـق عبـد الرحمـن خليـل
فـي يـوم 10 تمـوز قامت دوائـر تابعة لما يسـمى ب "الإدارة الذاتية" فـي الجزيـرة باعتقـال الرفيـق عبـد الرحمـن خليـل العضـو المرشــح للمكتب السياسـي للحـزب الشـيوعي السـوري، عضو مجلس الشعب، وذلك بسبب مشـاركته فـي الحملة الانتخابيـة لمجلس الشـعب. وقد رفض الرفيق عبد الرحمن التوقيع على تعهد بعدم المشاركة في هذه الحملة مقابل إطلاق سراحه.
إننا ندين هذا الفعل الجائر والتعسفي من قبل دوائر تابعة للمستعمر الأمريكي تجاه مواطن يقوم بحقه الدستوري.
ونطالب بإطلاق سراحه فوراً.
نحيي الرفيق عبد الرحمن خليل على موقفه المقدام.
المجـد للـوطنييــن الذيـن يتحـدون عدوانيـة المســـتعمر والأفعــال القمعيـة لأعوانــه!
