KKE and the Communist Party of Cuba reaffirm strong fraternal relations during Koutsoumbas' visit in Havana

The Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) reaffirmed their strong, fraternal relations during a meeting in Havana, within the framework of the visit paid by KKE General Secretary Dimitris Koutsoumbas on the island. 

More specifically, as Granma reported,  the member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Party, Roberto Morales Ojeda, received on Saturday 13/7 Koutsoumbas and the delegation accompanying him.

"It is an enormous satisfaction to receive you here; your presence will allow to continue consolidating the friendship and brotherhood between the Communist Party of Cuba and the Communist Party of Greece," said the Cuban party leader when welcoming them, reviewed the PCC website. 

At the same time, Morales Ojeda ratified the will to diversify relations between both parties and the willingness to develop cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

For his part, the Greek communist leader reaffirmed the support of the KKE to the Cuban Revolution, joined the demand for the exclusion of Cuba from the spurious list of States that allegedly sponsor terrorism, and condemned the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba.

As 902.gr portal reported, Dimitris Koutsoumbas and the KKE delegation, comprised among others by Politburo member and MP Giorgos Marinos and MEP Lefteris Nikolaou Alavanos, paid visits to Ana María Mari Machado, Vice President of the National Assembly, Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, Secretary of the Workers' Central Union of Cuba (Central de Trabajadores de Cuba - CTC), the Cuban Institute of Friendship (ICAP), the Union of Young Communists (UJC) and the Centro Fidel Castro Ruz. 

The KKE delegation was toured in the Centro Fidel Castro by Elier Ramírez Cañedo, historian and sub-director of the institution. 

 

In the end of his visit, Secretary Koutsoumbas wrote in the guestbook the following:

Here, the youngers learn and the elder ones remember... Our history is our future!

We are moving forward with the dream of the revolution being alive, with Don Quixote's dream being timely, since WE CAN TURN OUR DREAMS INTO REALITY!

The Revolution in Cuba, Fidel's struggle and the head of the revolution and the building of socialism in Cuba, inspires us more and more tofay.

With unity, comradeship, solidarity, struggle, we shall pave the way for socialism everywhere, in Europe and across the world.

The moral example of the Cuban people inspires us today. In the struggle against the exhausting blockade - so that Cuba will be removed from the despicable list of the supposedly "terrorist" states.
