It is with great sadness that the Secretary-General of the struggling Palestinian Communist Party and one of the party’s historical leaders mourns comrade Mahmoud Hassan Al-Aqqad, who passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2024, at the age of 84.
The comrade was from the first generation of the Communist Party and was detained for more than 12 years in the regime’s prisons. Al-Arni and then in the Israeli occupation detention centers.
The good-natured comrade played a prominent role in the
re-establishment in 1991. His death is considered a great shock and a
huge loss for the party, the Palestinian people and its working class.

محمود حسن العقاد الذي وافته المنية يوم الاحد الموافق ٢٩ نيسان ٢٠٢٤ عم
عمر ناهز ٨٤ عاما ، وكان الرفيق من الرعيل الاول للحزب الشيوعي واعتقل اكثر
من ١٢ عاما في سجون النظام الارني ومن ثم في معتقلات الاحتلال الاسرائيلي ،
وقد لهب الرفيق طيب الذكر دورا بارزا في اعادة التأسيس عام ١٩٩١ ، إن
وفاته تعتبر صدمه كبيرة وخسارة فادحة للحزب وللشعب الفلسطيني وطبقته
العاملة.
