The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) denounces the dangerous games
that New Democracy, SYRIZA and PASOK are playing with the Muslim
minority of Thrace. All the more so at a time when serious unfavourable
settlements in Greek-Turkish relations are in the pipeline, with the
direct intervention of the US–NATO, which have established their
presence in Thrace with the responsibility of both the New Democracy and
the SYRIZA government.The acute problems faced by the minority in Thrace have the same cause as those faced by the entire Greek people; therefore the struggle must be joint within the framework of the labour and popular movement.
This struggle must be directed against the plans of both the Greek and Turkish bourgeois classes, which intervene by blackmailing the people and by other methods because they want the minority to be a rubber stamp for their plans.
Another element of this intervention over time is the activity of the Turkish consulate in favour of candidates from all bourgeois parties and especially the attempt to establish the conception of “collective self-definition” as a “Turkish minority” which opposes the Treaty of Lausanne and opens up very dangerous paths. Those who pretend to have just found out about such intervention are hypocrites.
Minorities should be bridges of friendship and solidarity between the peoples. This is the necessity expressed by the KKE and its candidates from the Muslim minority of Thrace. We address the minority on the sole criterion of common class interests, free from any division on the grounds of religion, language or ethnic origin. That is why the people need to join forces with the KKE in the run-up to the elections, against the anti-popular policy of the governments and the plans of the bourgeois classes and imperialist organizations.

Осуждает опасное заигрывание НД, СИРИЗА, ПАСОК с мусульманским меньшинством Фракии
В своем комментарии в связи с полемикой вокруг мусульманского меньшинства во Фракии, пресс-служба ЦК КПГотмечает:
«КПГ осуждает опасное заигрывание НД, СИРИЗА и ПАСОК с мусульманским меньшинством Фракии. Тем более что такое заигрывание происходит в то время, когда намечаются серьезные негативные тенденции, связанные с урегулированием греко-турецких отношений при непосредственном вмешательстве американо-натовского фактора, установившего свое присутствие во Фракии, ответственность за которое несут оба правительства.
Острые проблемы, с которыми сталкивается меньшинство во Фракии, имеют ту же причину, что и проблемы, с которыми сталкивается весь греческий народ, поэтому борьба в рамках рабочего народного движения должна быть совместной. Эта борьба должна быть направлена против планов греческой и турецкой буржуазии, которые путем шантажа и других методов пытаются подчинить меньшинство своим планам.
Элементом этого постоянного вмешательства в дела мусульманского меньшинства является также деятельность турецкого консульства в поддержку кандидатов от всех буржуазных партий и прежде всего попытка закрепить логику «коллективного самоопределения» «турецкого меньшинства». Такая практика направлена против Лозаннского договора и открывает очень опасный путь. Те, кто сегодня вдруг обнаруживают такого рода вмешательство, являются просто лицемерами.
Меньшинства должны стать мостами дружбы и солидарности между народами. О такой необходимости говорят КПГ и ее кандидаты от мусульманского меньшинства Фракии.Единственным критерием, с которым мы подходим к мусульманскому меньшинству, являются общие классовые интересы, без разделения по религиозному, языковому,национальному признаку.Вот почему перед выборами необходимо усилить взаимодействие с КПГ в борьбе против антинародной политики правительств и планов буржуазных классов и империалистических организаций».

Denuncia de los juegos peligrosos de ND, SYRIZA y PASOK sobre la minoría musulmana de Tracia
La Oficina de Prensa del CC del KKE en su comentario del debate sobre la minoría musulmana en Tracia declara que:
“El KKE denuncia los planes peligrosos de ND, SYRIZA y PASOK con respecto a la minoría musulmana de Tracia. Sobre todo porque estos juegos se desarrollan en un período cuando se están gestando acuerdos negativos en las relaciones greco-turcas, con la intervención de EE.UU y de la OTAN que han consolidado su presencia en Tracia bajo la responsabilidad de los dos gobiernos, de ND y de SYRIZA.
Los problemas agudos que está sufriendo la minoría en Tracia tienen la misma causa con los problemas del pueblo griego en su conjunto, por lo que la lucha debe ser común en el marco del movimiento obrero-popular. Esta lucha debe dirigirse contra los planes de las dos clases burguesas, la griega y la turca, que intervienen con chantajes y otros métodos porque quieren que la minoría sea servil a sus planes.
Un elemento de esta intervención ha sido la actividad del consulado turco todos los años a favor de candidatos de todos los partidos burgueses y sobre todo el intento de afianzar la idea de la “autodeterminación colectiva” como “minoría turca” que se opone al Tratado de Lausana y abre caminos muy peligrosos. Quienes acaban de descubrir tales intervenciones son hipócritas.
Las minorías deben ser puentes de amistad y solidaridad entre los pueblos. Esta es la necesidad que expresa el KKE y sus diputados de la minoría musulmana en Tracia. Nos dirigimos a la minoría teniendo como criterio único los intereses de clase comunes, sin discriminaciones basadas en la religión, la lengua o el origen étnico. Por eso de cara a las elecciones hay que fortalecer la lucha junto al KKE, contra la política antipopular de los gobiernos y los planes de las clases burguesas y de las organizaciones imperialistas.”
