Under the slogan “NATO Killers Go Home”, members and supporters of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) in Xanthi, northern Greece, organized on Monday a protest against the country's involvement in the imperialist war and the presence of NATO forces in the region, 902 portal reported.
The protesters gathered at Petrochori, where the joint Greek-USA military drill dubbed “Thracian Cooperation 23” takes place with the participation of units from numerous Greek brigades, including airborne, armored, and aviation, as well as with the US 101st Airborne Division. The exercise is due to continue until February 24.
Speaking at the rally, the Secretary of the KKE Party Organization in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and Central Committee member, Dioynisis Kladis, underlined that the US-NATO imperialists aren't welcome in Thrace and demanded an end to Greece's involvement in the imperialist war.
It is reminded that earlier this month, on February 4th, the KKE and its youth wing KNE, organized a militant anti-imperialist rally in Piraeus, Greece's largest port, against the presence of USS George W. Bush.
