Under the slogan "No to the imperialist war - Stop Greece's involvement", the protesters sent a powerful message against the war in Ukraine, denouncing the Russian invasion and the dangerous warmongering US-NATO-EU plans in the region.
Mobilizations were staged in the Embassies of the Russian Federation and the United States in Athens.
"We will not side with any of the mobsters' camps - The only hope lies in the people's struggle", was one of the slogans heard at the demonstration.
The rally was attended by the General Secretary of the CC of the KKE Dimitris Koutsoumbas who made the following statement:
"The choice of any imperialist center or imperialist alliance is a choice that leads the people, the Greek people, to massacre. Only the self-contained, independent political strategy against the bourgeois and imperialist plans is the alternative for the workers and the people. We say no to the imperialist war. Greece must stop now its involvement in these procedures. The bases of death must be closed down now".
A large anti-war protest was also organized in Thessaloniki, Greece's second largest city, with the demonstrators marching towards the Russian and U.S. consulates.
