In a message to the Communist Party of Albania, the International Relations Department of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) expresses its solidarity to the working class and the people of Albania who are experiencing difficult moments after the recent powerful earthquake.
As 902 portal reports, the KKE expresses deep sorrow for the many victims, the dead and injured people, as well as the extensive material damages, caused by the recent destructive earthquake.
"In this difficult time, the KKE stands in solidarity with the working people of Albania and the Albanian immigrants who work in our country" the statement writes, underlining that the workers and the poor populars strata must not pay such a heavy blood tax due to natural phenomena" reads the KKE letter.
In its letter to the CP of Albania, the KKE also points out: "It is unacceptable that the governments find money for wars and the slaughterhouses of NATO's imperialists while, at the same time, there is lock of effective measures for anti-earthquake protection and readiness. It is proved in practice that the people's needs for protection from natural disasters have no place in the plans of the capitalists and their parties, and that happens in all countries".
The KKE stresses out that "the workers in the 21st century have the right to decent housing, with seismic protection measures".
