The Turkish city of Izmir will be the hosting place of the 21st International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP) which will take place on October 18-20, under the shared responsibility of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) and the Communist Party of Greece (KKE).
As soL portal reports, the theme of the meeting will be “100th Anniversary of the founding of the Communist International: The fight for peace and socialism continues!”
Representatives from over 70 parties from over 60 countries will join the meeting to express the common will and militancy of the communist and workers’ parties, toward socialism, with proletarian internationalism as their guide. The shared responsibility of the meeting between TKP and KKE will also be a demonstration of this will.
The meeting is to be concluded with a common appeal, that will be discussed and agreed upon by the participating parties from all around the world, which will serve as a compass for the forthcoming activities and joint struggles of parties that are part of the IMCWPs.
The IMCWP participants will also attend to the big public meeting organized by the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) in Izmir. TKP calls on the working people of Turkey who think an alternative order is possible and who do not want to surrender to this exploitative system to gather in the meeting to make the voice of the resisting working people to be heard.
A large open-air theatre will host thousands of workers from all regions of Turkey, as well as the international participants.
