In a statement published in 902 portal, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) condemns the new invasion of the Turkish armed forces in Syria and expresses solidarity with the people of Syria and the Kurdish population of the region.
"The KKE decisively condemns the new, third in a row, military invasion of Turkish military forces in Syria.
This new military operation shows the voracious aspirations of the Turkish bourgeois class which seeks to create faits accomplis into the Syrian territory as well, in order to form preconditions for further interventions in Syria's internal affairs thus expanding the territorial partition of the country that experiences the harsh consequences of the longstanding imperialist war.
The pretexts used by Turkey about the "international law of self-defense" reveal, one more time, that today the International Law is interpreted in a discretionary manner, in order to serve the various imperialist plans.
This Turkish military invasion would not take place if the USA hadn't provided the green light to NATO Turkish Armed Forces. It reveals how unsound are the recent celebrations of the New Democracy (ND) government for the visit of Pompeo and the supposedly peaceful and stabilizing role of the USA., The USA, alongside NATO and the EU, consist factors which threaten peace, security and people's prosperity, confirming the popular proverb "zebra doesn't change his stripes...".
People must draw conclusions.
The KKE expresses its solidarity to the people of Syria, among them also to the Kurdish population of the region.
