During his intervention at the plenary of the European Parliament in Strasburg, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) MEP Kostas Papadakis denounced the aggression of the Turkish bourgeois class in Cyprus and the Aegean, pointing out that this stance is fueled by the policy of the United States, the European Union and NATO.
According to 902 portal Kostas Papadakis said:
"We condemn the use of two ships with drilling machines in the Cypriot EEZ, as well as the continuous interventions in the Aegean by the bourgeois class of Turkey, a NATO member-state and strategic partner of the EU, which maintains the 37% of Cyprus for 45 years. The responsibilities of the EU are immense and cannot be whitewashed with verbal "concerns" and with "measures" which consist part of the known bazaar between the EU with Turkey's bourgeois class".
The KKE MEP also pointed out the following: "The equal distances, the words about self-restraint by the USA, EU and NATO legitimize its (Turkey's) aggression and prepare the soil for the dangerous joint management of the Aegean and the cypriot sea zones. The new government of New Democracy (ND) in Greece, in the soil prepared by SYRIZA, accelerates the dangerous involvement of Greece in the dangerous plans of the USA-NATO-EU, the monopolies of which prey on the energy sources".
Papakis ended his intervention by saying: "Against complacency, but also against nationalist blustering, the people must strengthen their vigilance for the disengagement from the imperialist plans, so that they will become masters of their energy wealth, with relations of friendship, solidarity and common struggle".
