Statement of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain (PCPE) on the 35th anniversary of its foundation
35 years with our class, with our people, under the banners of Marxism-Leninism:
Between January 13 and 15, 1984, the Congress of Unity of the Communists was held in Madrid.
From that Congress arose our Party, first under the denomination Communist Party and, later and
due to legal exigencies, like Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain (PCPE).
The 35 years of existence of our Party offer important lessons that, today, help us and guide us in
the fulfillment of our fundamental task: to develop the political tool that allows the working class of
our country to overthrow the bourgeois power and build the socialism-communism in Spain.
Our Party has lived various periods throughout these 35 years. Among the outstanding results of the
Congress of Unity is the creation, just one year later, of the Collectives of Young Communists (CJC),
which today continue to fight firmly to organize the youth of working class and popular extraction.
Also, the untiring work of our Party in the struggle against NATO, the European Union and the Euro,
in the struggle to develop the tools of class-oriented trade-unionism, in internationalist solidarity and
in the struggle for the emancipation of the working women, among other struggles.
Throughout these years we have lived periods of light and shadow. All of them are an unquestionable
part of our life as an organization and, therefore, we claim them as a necessary part of our political
and organizational development, as steps that have helped to clarify which way we, the communists
of Spain, should follow and what kind of organization we should build if we want to make the conquest
of political power by the working class a reality.
In these 35 years we have survived very hard times. The temporary triumph of the counterrevolution
in the USSR and in the countries of the European socialist bloc was about to end with us, but we
were able to resist. The maneuvers of Eurocommunism, both in its right-wing and its left-wing
expressions, sought to liquidate us, but we were able to say enough! We were able to safeguard our
political and organizational independence, aspiring to keep intact the red thread that unites our
current struggles with the History of the revolutionary workers' movement.
Our history is a history of struggle against rhetoric and against the actions of those who, supposedly
in the name of Marxism-Leninism, had as their intention to make the Communist Party disappear or
leave it without any capacity for intervention in the class struggle.
Our history is a history of political struggle against all those who, every day, throw sand in the eyes
of the working class and popular sectors, offering false promises and paths that only lead to the
defense and promotion of the interests of other social classes.
Our history is a history of ideological struggle, claiming Marxism-Leninism as the worldview of the
working class, revealing and confronting all the traps that the class enemy puts in our path with the
sole objective of moving us away from the revolution and socialism -communism.
Our history is a history of organizational struggle, vindicating the need of the Communist Party and
its independence as the only guarantee for the advance of the positions of our class in all struggle
and conflict.
Together with other fraternal Communist and Workers' Parties with whom we share space in the
International Communist Review, the European Communist Initiative, the International Meetings of Communist and Workers' Parties and other international structures, we stand firm in the defense of
Marxism-Leninism and proletarian internationalism, at a time when the confrontations between the
different capitalist powers accelerate the risk of new imperialist wars in which our class has nothing
to gain.
Today, 35 years after our birth, our fidelity is only towards our class, our people and Marxism-Leninism. Regardless of the difficulties that the future presents, our commitment is and will be the
same: the triumph of the Revolution and the construction of socialism-communism in Spain.

Declaración del Buró Político del PCPE en el 35 aniversario de su fundación
35 años con nuestra clase, con nuestro pueblo, bajo las banderas del marxismo-leninismo.
Entre el 13 y el 15 de enero de 1984 se celebró en Madrid el Congreso de Unidad de los Comunistas. De ese Congreso surgió nuestro Partido, primero bajo la denominación Partido Comunista y, posteriormente y por exigencias legales, como Partido Comunista de los Pueblos de España (PCPE).
Los 35 años de existencia de nuestro Partido ofrecen importantes enseñanzas que, a día de hoy, nos ayudan y orientan en el cumplimiento de nuestra tarea fundamental: desarrollar la herramienta política que permita a la clase obrera de nuestro país derrocar el poder burgués y construir el socialismo-comunismo en España.
Nuestro Partido ha vivido períodos diversos a lo largo de estos 35 años. Entre los resultados destacables del Congreso de Unidad destaca la creación, sólo un año después, de los Colectivos de Jóvenes Comunistas (CJC), que hoy siguen luchando con firmeza para organizar a la juventud de extracción obrera y popular. También el trabajo incansable de nuestro Partido en la lucha contra la OTAN, la Unión Europea y el Euro, en la lucha por desarrollar las herramientas del sindicalismo de clase, en la solidaridad internacionalista y en la lucha por la emancipación de la mujer trabajadora, entre otras.
A lo largo de estos años hemos vivido períodos de luces y de sombras. Todos ellos forman parte incuestionable de nuestra vida como organización y, por ello, los reivindicamos como parte necesaria de nuestro desarrollo político y organizativo, como pasos que han ayudado a clarificar qué camino debemos seguir y qué tipo de organización debemos construir los y las comunistas de España si queremos convertir en realidad la conquista del poder político por la clase obrera.
En estos 35 años hemos sobrevivido a momentos muy duros. El triunfo temporal de la contrarrevolución en la URSS y en los países del bloque socialista europeo estuvo a punto de terminar con nosotros, pero fuimos capaces de resistir. Las maniobras del eurocomunismo, tanto en su vertiente de derechas como en su vertiente de izquierdas, pretendieron liquidarnos, pero fuimos capaces de decir ¡basta!, de salvaguardar nuestra independencia política y organizativa, aspirando a mantener intacto el hilo rojo que une nuestras luchas actuales con la Historia del movimiento obrero revolucionario.
Nuestra historia es una historia de lucha frente a la retórica y frente a las acciones de quienes, supuestamente en nombre del marxismo-leninismo, tenían como intención hacer desaparecer al Partido Comunista o dejarlo sin capacidad alguna de intervención en la lucha de clases.
Nuestra historia es una historia de lucha política frente a todos aquellos que, cada día, arrojan arena a los ojos de la clase obrera y los sectores populares, ofreciéndoles falsas promesas y caminos que únicamente llevan a la defensa y promoción de los intereses de otras clases sociales.
Nuestra historia es una historia de lucha ideológica, reivindicando el marxismo-leninismo como cosmovisión de la clase obrera, desvelando y haciendo frente a todas las trampas que el enemigo de clase pone en nuestro camino con el único objetivo de alejarnos de la revolución y del socialismo-comunismo.
Nuestra historia es una historia de lucha organizativa, reivindicando la necesidad del Partido Comunista y de su independencia como única garantía del avance de las posiciones de nuestra clase en toda lucha y conflicto.
Junto con otros Partidos Comunistas y Obreros hermanos que comparten espacio en la Revista Comunista Internacional, en la Iniciativa Comunista Europea, en los Encuentros Internacionales de Partidos Comunistas y Obreros y en otras estructuras internacionales, nos mantenemos firmes en la defensa del marxismo-leninismo y del internacionalismo proletario, en un momento en que las confrontaciones entre las distintas potencias capitalistas aceleran el riesgo de nuevas guerras imperialistas en las que nuestra clase no tiene nada que ganar.
Hoy, 35 años después de nuestro nacimiento, nuestra fidelidad es únicamente para nuestra clase, para nuestro pueblo y para el marxismo-leninismo. Independientemente de las dificultades que nos depare el futuro, nuestro compromiso es y será el mismo: el triunfo de la Revolución y la construcción del socialismo-comunismo en España.
