Regarding the speech of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras at the Peace Forum in Paris, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) issued a statement:
"Once again, Mr Tsipras tries to to "whitewash" the EU and its supposedly "moral" values, both for the suffering of the people as well as for the rise of nationalism and fascism.
But the EU is what its current repulsive face shows, no matter if in previous decades it had been forced into some concessions due to the influence of the socialist system, the strengthening of the communist parties and the development of the people's struggle.
The "dominant elites", that is the big capital, which created the EU, are the same which launch wars and, at other times, they strengthen racist and fascist forces because that serves their interests. That's why the gathering of all these who have stained with world with blood in the past and today in a so-called Peace Forum can only be seen as fathomless hypocrisy. Their "imperialist peace" is the face of the same coin which on the other side has the "imperialist war".
And of course this is not just about Europe, but for the whole world, as well as the USA of the - "devilish good"- Mr Tsipras' friend, President Trump."
